Meet Our Speakers
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds
Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds is President/CEO of Family and Children’s Association (FCA), one of Long Island’s largest health and human services nonprofits serving over 35,000 people annually through more than 60 programs addressing youth homelessness, substance abuse disorders, mental health, gun violence and other challenges. With a Ph.D. in Social Welfare and over 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Dr. Reynolds has pioneered innovative approaches during public health crises, served on numerous state task forces and has received the National Council on Wellbeing’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
A two-time cancer survivor and accomplished Ironman triathlete who completed his first triathlon at age 55, Dr. Reynolds is the bestselling author of “Every Mile Matters: Turning Triathlon Training Into Cancer Triumph.”
Rony Balthazar-Lopez
Rony Baltazar-Lopez was appointed by Governor Matt Meyer in 2025 as the inaugural Director of the Delaware Office of New Americans. He previously served as Director of Policy and Communications at the Delaware Department of State and worked at the Delaware Attorney Generalโs Office and in the U.S. Senator Tom Carperโs office, focusing on immigration, homeland security, and foreign affairs. He serves as Vice Chair of the Delaware Hispanic Commission. He also serves as Board President of La Red Health Center. In 2025, Director Baltazar-Lopez was recognized as one of Delaware Business Timesโ 40 under 40. A Milford native, he holds degrees in political science and public administration from the University of Delaware.
Alonna Berry
Alonna Berry serves as State Representative for Delawareโs 20th House District, representing Milton, the town of Lewes, and surrounding communities. She is also the Executive Director of the Delaware Center for Justice, where she leads statewide efforts focused on public safety, justice reform, and second chance opportunities. A lifelong advocate for equity and community partnership, Alonna previously founded the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence and serves as President of the Syracuse University Alumni Association. Her work bridges policy, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement to strengthen opportunity across Delaware. She is a proud mother, wife, and committed public servant dedicated to advancing hope, equity, and justice.
Matthew Denn
Matt Denn is a Delaware attorney who previously served as Delaware’s Attorney General, Lieutenant Governor, Insurance Commissioner, and Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor. He currently serves as the co-chair of the Redding Consortium for Educational Equity and as the vice chair of Action for Delaware’s Children, a 501(c)(4) non-profit that advocates for the interests of Delaware children.
Thรจre Dupont
Thรจre du Pont is the President of the Longwood Foundation, where he supports the great work of the entire team. He continues to serve on the grantmaking team and handles a significant portion of grant requests personally.
Previously, Thรจre was President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Wawa, and CFO at drugstore.com.
He serves on the Boards of DuPont, WSFS, and Burris Logistics. He is Chair of the Board of the Community Education Building, Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation, and First State Educate. He enjoys spending time with his family, jogging, and playing tennis.
Doris Griffin
Dr. Doris Griffin is the Executive Director of the Delaware Adolescent Program, where she supports young women pursuing education while pregnant or parenting. She also coโfounded Aspire and Achieve, offering coaching and support to individuals and families. Doris is passionate about resilience, leadership, and community wellโbeing.
Ryan Harrington
Ryan Harrington is the Managing Director of the Data Innovation Lab (DIL) at Tech Impact where he focuses on developing data science projects for social good. Previously, Ryan was the lead data scientist at CompassRed Data Labs, a data science and analytics consulting firm where his focus was on developing models using a combination of statistical methods and machine learning techniques. Outside of work, he co-founded and co-organized Open Data Delaware, an organization dedicated to improving data transparency within government institutions and applying data and technology to solve civic problems.
Harrington holds a B.S in environmental and business economics from Rutgers University and an M.S. in business analytics from Drexel University.
Melissa Hopkins
Melissa Hopkins is the Executive Vice President & Chief External Affairs Officer at DANA, the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement and serves as the Executive Director of the Delaware Nonprofit Action Network (DNAN). With over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership and public policy, she has been a driving force in advancing advocacy efforts for Delawareโs nonprofit sector.
Previously, Melissa served as Director of External Affairs at the Rodel Foundation of Delaware, where she played a key role in shaping state education policy. She also worked as a Legislative Aide for the Delaware House of Representatives Majority Leader and Majority Whip.
John Kane
John Kane is the Policy Director for Governor Matt Meyer. He comes to this role after more than 25 years in Washington, DC working on Capitol Hill. For the last 13 years, John worked for Senator Tom Carper in a variety of positions, ending his time as Deputy Staff Director and Director of Infrastructure on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. During his time on the Committee, John developed, drafted, and led the Senate strategy leading to the passage of every infrastrucutre bill for the last decade including numerous Water Resource Development Acts, the Bipartisan Infrastructure law, the reauthorization of the Economic Development Administration, and the Inflation Reduction Act.
S. Elizabeth “Tizzy” Lockman
S. Elizabeth “Tizzy” Lockman represents Delaware’s Third Senate District, covering central and west Wilmington. She came to elected office through years of education advocacy and community organizing, including leadership roles with the Wilmington Education Improvement Commission, the PTA and the ACLU. Elected to the Delaware Senate in 2018โonly the second African American woman elected to its upper chamberโshe serves as Senate Majority Whip, chairs the Housing and Rules & Ethics Committees, and serves as vice chair of the Education Committee. She is also the founding co-chair of the Redding Consortium for Educational Equity. A mother of two, she lives in Wilmington with her husband and young son.
Traci Manza Murphy
Traci Manza Murphy is the executive director of the Coalition for a Safer Delaware, which focuses exclusively on ending gun violence in Delaware and nationwide through policy, partnerships, and prevention programming. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Delaware, and is an experienced communications, community engagement, and non-profit professional. When not writing grants or advocating for better outcomes for kids, she can be found playing tennis, reading, or in Dewey Beach.
Kerriann Otaรฑo
Kerriann Otaรฑo joined OperaDelaware as Vice President of Engagement in July 2022. After an extensive career as a spinto soprano in leading opera houses including Washington National Opera, Opera San Jose, Wolf Trap Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera, Kerriann began transitioning into artistic administration in 2019 with a focus on artist advocacy, IDEA initiatives, and healthcare for freelance artists. Kerriann’s 2023 TEDx on artist and audience advocacy was released on TEDTalk’s global network and has received over 25,000 views. Kerriann was named to two of Delaware Business Times most prestigious lists: Top 40 Under 40 in 2024 and Top Women in Business in 2025. She was also named one of Musical America’s Top 30 Professionals nationally in 2025.
Jennifer Shropshire
Jennifer Shropshire partners with nonprofit organizations primarily on strategic planning, fundraising, and board development. Her client portfolio, which spans the nonprofit sector, speaks volumes about her values and interests. A self-professed volunteer-a-holic, Jennifer has served on the boards of several nonprofits with both honor and humility, including her universityโs alumni association and foundation, Presbyterian Senior Living, and Pine Run Village. Jenniferโs gifts for facilitation, sense making, and quirky curiosity stem from her undergraduate degree in management science from SUNY Oswego, her early career in the development office of the Walnut Street Theatre, and her MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Diane Yentel
Diane Yentel is president and CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits, the largest network of nonprofit organizations in North America, where she leads an exceptional team of 18 NCN staff. Since joining in January 2025, Diane has been a leading national voice, thought leaders, and advocate for the nonprofit sector. Under Dianeโs leadership, NCN has filed and won two landmark lawsuits to ensure over $1 trillion dollars in federal funding continues to support nonprofits in their crucial work to meet community needs, and launched a major national narrative campaign to build public support for the vital work of nonprofits throughout the country.
