Mission Area
Women, Volunteering, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Founded in 2019, JDWS is a local and national association operating in several Sahelian countries, including Niger, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad, and Senegal, as well as in France and the United States. This organization, led and founded by volunteers, aims to combat gender-based violence (GBV) and promote women's rights.
Board Meeting Details
Our board meets on weekends virtually
Our committees meet at the same time as the board
We are a medium board with more than 10 people with at least one active committee
We elect our board of directors in December
Intervention Areas: Promotion of women's and girls' rights. Protection against GBV. Sexual and reproductive health. Leadership, peace, and security. Resilience to climate change.
Achievements: JDWS has accomplished significant actions, such as training 375 community leaders, organizing awareness campaigns reaching over 70,000 people, and creating the platform Deenal.org to report GBV cases. Together, JDWS and its volunteers work towards a future where every woman and girl in the Sahel can live safely, free from all forms of violence and oppression.

Volunteer Coordinator - Recruit and manage a dynamic team of volunteers.
Grant Writing - Craft compelling grant proposals for funding.
Women's Rights Advocacy Specialists - Champion gender equality and advocate for change.
Communication Specialists - Shape our narrative across diverse platforms.
Social Media Specialist - Amplify our cause with engaging digital content.
Compliance/Ethics/Diversity Specialist - Ensure ethical standards and champion diversity.
