Governor Markell, Legislators to Attend Delaware Nonprofit Day

Dover, DE – Delaware Nonprofit Day, hosted by the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement (DANA), is a special day held annually to recognize Delaware’s nonprofit sectorfor the work they do in contributing to quality of life for all Delawareans. DelawareGovernor Jack Markell is scheduled to attend to make a declaration regarding the occasion. This year, the event willtake place on Wednesday, May 18, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the East Steps of Legislative Hall.

The first hour of programming will feature Representative Valerie Longhurst and Senator Ernesto Lopez presenting a Joint Tribute in observance of Delaware Nonprofit Day to DANA and the nonprofit sector.

Governor Markell is scheduled to speak at 11:40 a.m. to make a declaration about Nonprofit Day.

After the formal addresses, the event will move to the Tatnall Building where lunch will be served and there will be an opportunity for attendees to mingle with their legislators and staffersto discuss nonprofit issues and missions.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate Delaware nonprofits, and recognize them for all that they do.

Delaware Nonprofit Day is the week before the Joint Finance Committee of the General Assembly is scheduled to begin their two weeks of Budget and Grant-In-Aid mark-up.
