FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Dover, DE – The Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement (DANA) has partnered with Nonprofit Finance Fund to bring their training “Financial Management for Nonprofit Sustainability” to Delaware on April 15. This course is made possible thanks to support from Discover Bank.

The financial heath of any nonprofit is critical to its sustainability. As the economy continues to change and remain uncertain for many in the nonprofit community, some organizations are revisiting current budgeting practices and exploring new options to better navigate a changing environment. Nonprofit Finance Fund will provide both a nuts-and-bolts understanding of financial management, as well as information on more complex topics to help nonprofit executives be effective leaders in today’s uncertain environment.

This special session will be held at the Dover campus of Wilmington University from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with breakfast and lunch included. Options are available for full day or half day attendance. Meals are sponsored by Belfint Lyons Shuman Certified Public Accountants.

The morning program, entitled “Learning the Basics and Interpreting Financial Statements” will cover the fundamentals of nonprofit finance in order to better equip nonprofit leaders and board members to interpret nonprofit financial statements and assess their organizations’ financial health. The afternoon program will focus on strategic financial planning, including managing the changing landscape of funding and financing. It will also provide a review of more advanced budgeting practices in addition to an introduction to forecasting and scenario planning tools.

Nonprofit Finance Fund unlocks the potential of mission-driven organizations through tailored investments, strategic advice, and accessible insights. Founded in 1980, the group helps organizations connect money to mission effectively, and supports innovations such as growth capital campaigns, cross-sector economic recovery initiatives and impact investing.
