Nonprofit alliance holds annual conference

DANA, the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement, held their 2018 IMPACT Delaware Annual Conference last month at University of Delaware’s Clayton Hall.

Participants ranged from nonprofit employees and board members to philanthropy and business leaders. Attendees dedicated time to learning about the many facets of nonprofit sustainability, beginning with keynote speaker Steven Zimmerman’s Competencies for Sustainability.

Breakout sessions provided attendees key strategies to ensure sustainability depending on their individual organizations’ interests. Sessions included: Sustaining Mission through Advocacy, Organizational Considerations for Sustainable Collective Impact, Building Brand Reputation, Trend Watching, Planning for Leadership Continuity and Strategic Planning with LEGOSerious Play, a release stated.

“Nonprofits serving our most vulnerable communities are still recovering from decreases to state funding sources and are working diligently to become more sustainable in the future,” said Sheila Bravo, CEO, of DANA.

The Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement is a membership organization dedicated to advancing nonprofit excellence in Delaware. Its mission is to strengthen, enhance, and advance nonprofits and the nonprofit sector through advocacy, training, capacity building and research.
